Hi! I’m Ilse, a travel writer with a background in the airline and travel industry, including KLM and Club Med. Through years of exploring destinations around the world, I’ve developed a deep passion for uncovering cultures and showing how travel can quietly enrich your perspective.
I believe the most memorable journeys are the ones that connect you with the rhythm and soul of a place.
To me, that soul is not only found in famous landmarks, but in everyday local life, the energy of a neighborhood market, the freedom of cycling through a vibrant city, or the excitement of discovering a tucked-away spot that most travelers miss. And I’m always searching for unique places to stay.
I’m passionate about uncovering authentic places and meaningful moments that make a destination unforgettable, and translating them into stories that inspire deeper, more conscious travel.

Partnering with Analogica Group, a communications agency representing some of Portugal’s most prestigious hotel collections, I traveled from North to South Portugal to document heritage properties, gastronomy, culture, and hidden destinations.
The collaboration resulted in a multi-article editorial series featuring luxury hospitality, regional storytelling, and cultural experiences across Portugal.
