I’m Ilse, a travel writer with a background in the airline and travel industry, including KLM and Club Med. Travel has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and over the years I’ve been lucky enough to explore many corners of the world.

I’m happiest when I’m discovering a new place at my own pace, wandering through a local market, tasting something I’ve never tried before, getting on a bike to explore a city or sitting down somewhere and simply watching everyday life unfold. I’m always curious about the people, culture, food and little details that give a destination its character.

I love turning these experiences into stories that bring a destination to life. My writing combines enthusiasm, curiosity and useful information, with the aim of sparking curiosity and inspiring others to travel a little deeper.​​
